Introduction
Warrens is a family run guest house located on Scarcroft Road, 350 yards from the City Walls in the city centre of York and offers 12 en-suite guest rooms. The house is a Victorian property and whilst we aim to meet the needs of all our guests there are some period features which might make access difficult for people with limited mobility. There are 2 steps into the house and 4 steps down to the Reception area. We have both double and twin rooms available on the ground floor. The doors and stairs make the property unsuitable for wheelchair users. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.

The railway and coach station is approximately 10 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive. Taxis are usually available immediately at the front of the train station.

The buses stop at the railway station and provide good access to the surrounding county.

The nearest shops, cash points and chemist are approximately 300 yards.

Arrival and Car Parking

Please advise us of your anticipated arrival time. Please also advise whether you require a parking space.

We are flexible with check-in arrangements - providing you tell us your arrival time we will arrange to be here to greet you or arrange a self check-in. If you arrive prior to 2pm then we cannot guarantee that your room will be ready for occupation, however you are welcome to come into the house, sign in, collect the key to your room and leave your luggage or park your car with us at that time.

Parking is at the rear of the property in marked bays. We have limited parking so please park in the marked bay as close to other vehicle as possible. Parking is carried out on a first come first served basis. One car per room.

We can issue you with a permit to park on the road if required

We are happy for guests to leave their cars in the car park free of charge on the day of their departure if we have sufficient space.

We also have storage for bicycles and parking for motor bikes.
We offer assistance with luggage.

Free parking for Blue Badge Holders available at the front of the building.
Main Entrance

The entrance gate has got one step, which is 14cm high. The front door step has two steps 8cm and 13cm high.

The front door is always locked. A key code for entry is provided on Check-in.

On entry into the building there is a hallway with four steps down to the Lounge/Reception.
Reception/Lounge

There is a seating area provided in the lounge, where guests can relax, use the independent computer station or the wireless internet connection. A selection of local information leaflets, games and books are also available.

The Reception desk is located in this room.
Conservatory

There is one 12cm step from the reception/lounge into the conservatory.

The conservatory has laminate flooring.

There are three 15cm steps leading to the loggia and car park.

Breakfast is served between 07.45am and 09.15am

Furniture is flexible can be moved on request.

We are able to use the front and back doors in the need of evacuation; the fire alarm rings continuously if evacuation is needed. If you require more assistance for evacuating please notify us on arrival

Food is not served in the rooms, but guests can be assisted to the dining area if required.

There are no lifts in the guest house providing access to the first and second floor.

Double shower en-suite located at the back of the building with 12 stairs to the first landing, followed by a further 5 stairs. The stairs are 16cm high, 26cm deep and 79cm wide. The door width is 76cm opening inwards and the bed is 56cm high.

Family shower en-suite located at the front of the building. Sleeps 4 people and have two single beds and one double bed. There is 12 stairs to the first landing, followed by a further 5 stairs.
